Reorder Journeys, Milestones, and Steps

Building Your Hub

Drag a Journey, Milestone, or Step in the list or Canvas View to change its order within the same parent. If the new order puts a Step before context it uses, OBIE flags the problem and links you to the settings that need attention.

Reordering changes sequence only. A Journey stays in its AI Hub, a Milestone stays in its Journey, and a Step stays in its Milestone.

What you can reorder

  • Reorder Journeys inside the same AI Hub.
  • Reorder Milestones inside the same Journey.
  • Reorder Steps inside the same Milestone.

To place something under a different parent, use Move instead.

Reorder from the list

  1. Open the AI Hub, Journey, or Milestone that contains the items.
  2. Find the drag handle for the Journey, Milestone, or Step.
  3. Drag the item to its new position in the same list.
  4. Release it when the placement indicator appears where you want it.

The new order saves automatically.

Reorder in Canvas View

  1. Open the AI Hub and select Canvas View.
  2. Find the Journey, Milestone, or Step.
  3. Drag it to a new position among items with the same parent.
  4. Release it when the placement indicator shows the intended position.

Use Undo to reverse the change. Redo restores the change you just undid.

Resolve context warnings

Step context follows the Step itself, so reordering doesn't remove those relationships. OBIE checks whether the new sequence makes that context unavailable.

  • Step context out of order means a Step uses context from another Step that now comes later in the same Journey. Move the Step after its context, or open its context or Deliverable settings and remove the link.
  • Check context availability means a Step uses context from a different Journey. Make sure users complete that Journey first, or remove the link.

Expand Show details to see the affected Steps and their full paths. Select Open context settings or Open deliverable settings to make the correction.

Confirm the result

Check the list or Canvas View and confirm the items appear in the intended sequence. Reordering doesn't change the item's parent, content, publication status, or user progress.

Frequently asked questions

Can I reorder content from both the list and Canvas View?
Yes. Journeys, Milestones, and Steps can be reordered by dragging in either view.
Can I undo a reorder?
In Canvas View, use **Undo** and **Redo**. The regular list doesn't have the same controls.
Does reordering a Step change its context?
No. Context relationships stay attached to the Step. OBIE flags any relationship the new order makes unavailable.
Why can't I drag an item into a different parent?
Reordering only changes sequence within the current parent. Use **Move** to place a Step in another Milestone, a Milestone in another Journey, or a Journey in another AI Hub.
