Give Someone Free Access to a Paid Offer
Issue a free pass from your hub's Users page: select Edit on the user, choose the offer under Offer access, optionally set an expiry, and select Issue pass. The pass counts as having the offer until it expires or you revoke it.
To give someone an offer without charging them, issue them a free pass. Open your hub's Users page, select Edit from the user's menu, pick the offer under Offer access, optionally set an expiry, and select Issue pass. They get the offer just as if they'd bought it, for as long as the pass lasts.
Issue a pass
1. Open your hub and go to Users.
2. Open the menu on the user's row and select Edit.
3. In the Offer access section, choose the offer from the Offer list.
4. Set Expires (optional) if the pass should end on a date. Leave it empty to keep it open-ended.
5. Select Issue pass.
The pass appears in the list below with its status, such as "Pass · No expiry" or "Pass expires" followed by the date. If the hub has no offers yet, you'll see "Create an offer before issuing a pass."
You'll find Offer access when you edit a user from a specific hub's Users page, and only for users, not team members. Only Org Admins and Managers can issue or revoke passes. Editors can see the list but not change it.
What a pass gives them
A pass counts as having the offer for Active Offer requirements, including those set through Included journeys. Other visibility requirements can still apply, so a pass isn't a shortcut around every rule. It also counts toward hub access while it hasn't been revoked, subject to hub-wide tag requirements and any other access restrictions.
A pass doesn't add the offer's tags, and it doesn't send the offer's access email or create anything in Stripe. If content is gated by an offer tag rather than Active Offer, a pass alone won't unlock it. See Tags applied on opt-in or purchase.
Revoke a pass
Open the same Offer access section and select Revoke pass next to it. The pass is removed right away and stops counting as the offer. If the user also bought or subscribes to the same offer, they keep it through that purchase or subscription.
Passes also stop qualifying as the offer after the expiry date, but an expired pass still counts toward general hub access. Revoking deletes the pass. If it was the user's only access basis, revoking it can also end their hub access. See When offer access ends for the full picture.
An example
Jennifer Walsh wants to give a podcast guest, Marcus Reyes, a month of her "Leadership Lab" subscription. She issues him a pass for Leadership Lab with an expiry date four weeks out. The pass satisfies the offer requirement until then, and nothing is charged.
Frequently asked questions
- Who can issue a free pass?
- Org Admins and Managers. Editors can see a user's passes but can't issue or revoke them.
- Does the user get an email when I issue a pass?
- No. Issuing a pass doesn't send the offer's access email, so let them know yourself.
- Can I give a pass to a free offer?
- Yes, the Offer list includes every offer in the hub. A pass doesn't add offer tags. It satisfies Active Offer requirements, but other visibility and hub-access requirements still apply.

Offer access follows subscription, purchase, payment-plan, and pass status; full refunds can end it, but partial refunds don't. Losing the offer stops matching its Active Offer requirement, while other access can remain; revoking a sole pass can also end hub access.
