Customize a Milestone

Building Your Hub

Customize a milestone's name, description, background, visibility rules, and versioning from its Settings page. Milestones inherit their background from the journey above them but can have their own custom look.

Each milestone has a settings page with several configuration sections. Open a milestone and select Settings to access them.

Content

From Settings → Content, update the milestone's name and description. These appear in the milestone listing inside the journey.

Customize (appearance)

From Settings → Customize, set a custom background. The options are the same as journeys — none, solid color, gradient, or image. By default, a milestone inherits its background from the journey above it (which inherits from the hub). Turn on the Customize toggle to override. Steps inside this milestone automatically use the milestone's background.

Visibility Rules

From Settings → Visibility Rules, control when this milestone appears to members. Works identically to visibility rules on journeys — see How Visibility Rules Work.

Versions

From Settings → Versions, enable or disable milestone versioning. When enabled, members can create and manage multiple versions of this milestone — useful for repeatable processes. See Understanding Milestone Versions for details.

Frequently asked questions

What's the background inheritance order?
Hub → Journey → Milestone → Steps. Each level inherits from the one above unless it sets its own custom background.
Where do I enable milestone versions?
Open the milestone → Settings → Versions. Toggle on "Enable Milestone versions."
Do steps get their own background settings?
Steps automatically use their milestone's background. There are no separate background settings at the step level.
