Change Who Your Hub's Emails Come From
From Name sets the sender name members see and Reply-To Email sets where their replies go, both under Hub Settings → Welcome Emails. The reply-to address must be verified by opening a link OBIE emails it, in a browser signed in to the OBIE account that owns the hub.
Two fields control how your hub's emails appear to members, both under Hub Settings → Welcome Emails: From Name is the sender name they see in their inbox, and Reply-To Email is where their replies go. The sending address itself is always OBIE's shared sending domain — that's what keeps your mail authenticated and out of spam folders — so these two fields are how you make the email feel like it came from you.
Change the sender name
1. Open your hub, select Hub Settings, then Welcome Emails.
2. Edit From Name. This is the display name in the inbox, so use whatever your members will recognize: your own name, your brand, or your program's name.
3. Select Save.
If you leave it blank, OBIE uses your hub's name. Take a second to decide which reads better coming from a real person — "Jennifer Walsh" and "Walsh Consulting Group" land very differently in an inbox.
Set and verify the reply-to address
Replies need to reach a real mailbox, so OBIE won't use a reply-to address until you've proven you can receive mail at it.
1. In Hub Settings → Welcome Emails, enter the address in Reply-To Email.
2. Select Verify. OBIE sends a confirmation email to that address.
3. Open that email in the mailbox you just entered and select the confirmation link. Open it in a browser where you're signed in to OBIE as the creator — the link lands on a page inside your account, so if you're signed out you'll be sent to the login screen first, and it must be the same OBIE account that owns the hub.
4. The button reads Pending while you're waiting and Verified once the link is confirmed.
From that point on, every email your hub sends carries that reply-to address, and member replies land in that inbox instead of going nowhere.
Keep it verified
Editing the address clears its verified status — you'll verify the new one the same way. If a reply-to address isn't verified, OBIE ignores it and falls back to its default reply address, so a half-finished change is the same as no change. Check the button on this page any time you're unsure: Verified is the only state that's actually in effect.
Use an inbox somebody watches. The whole point is that a confused member can hit reply and reach a human — a verified address nobody reads is worse than no address, because the email invites a reply that never gets answered.
Check it
Add yourself as a member using an address you control. When the welcome email arrives, confirm the sender name in your inbox list is the one you set, then hit reply and check that the To field is your reply-to address, not OBIE's.
Frequently asked questions
- Can I send from my own domain instead?
- No. All hub email is sent from OBIE's shared, authenticated sending domain so it reaches inboxes reliably. Your identity comes through the From Name and the verified Reply-To Email.
- I never got the verification email.
- Check spam, confirm the address is spelled correctly, and select Verify again to resend. If it's a shared or role address such as info@ or support@, make sure you can actually open mail sent to it.
- Can someone else on my team click the verification link?
- Only if they're signed in to the OBIE account that owns the hub. The link opens a page inside that account, so a personal or unrelated login won't complete it.
- Does the reply-to address apply to every hub?
- No, it's set per hub. Each hub has its own From Name and Reply-To Email.
- Do I have to set a reply-to at all?
- No. Without one, replies go to OBIE's default reply address. Setting your own is strongly recommended if you want to hear from members.
