Building Your Hub

Choose from six layouts to change how your AI Hub looks and flows for users: Default, Path, Sidebar, Gallery, Book, or Tiles. A layout changes presentation only, so your content, access rules, settings, and user progress stay intact.

Your layout changes how your AI Hub is organized and presented to users without changing its content, settings, access rules, or anyone's progress. OBIE includes six layouts: Default, Path, Sidebar, Gallery, Book, and Tiles.

Choose and preview a layout

1. From Your AI Hubs, open the hub you want to change.

2. Open Hub Settings → Customize.

3. Under Layout, select Change layout.

4. Select any layout to preview it with your real hub content. Select Full screen when you want a larger view, then Back to layouts to return.

5. Select Apply layout.

6. Select Save Pending Edits.

Nothing changes on your live hub while you're browsing the layout gallery. The new layout becomes live only after you select Apply layout and then Save Pending Edits.

The six layouts

Default

Default places your sections in a centered, stacked page. It is the most familiar and flexible choice, and it works well for almost any hub when you want the content itself to lead.

Best for: A clean, straightforward experience that does not favor one kind of content.

Path

Path arranges the experience like a guided route, helping users see the sequence and move forward one stage at a time. It puts extra emphasis on direction and progress.

Best for: Programs with a clear order, transformation, or step-by-step journey.

Sidebar

Sidebar keeps navigation in a menu on the left and presents content in compact rows. It makes it easier to move between sections without returning to the hub home page.

Best for: Larger hubs, resource libraries, or users who need to move between areas often.

Gallery

Gallery uses large images and wide, visual rows that users can browse or swipe through. Background images carry more weight in this layout than they do in the others.

Best for: Image-rich brands, visual programs, and hubs with strong photography or artwork.

Book

Book uses serif headings, calm spacing, and an editorial structure that feels more like reading a book. It gives longer explanations and teaching content room to breathe.

Best for: Story-led programs, educational material, and thoughtful reading experiences.

Tiles

Tiles organizes the hub as a dashboard grid. It brings progress and what to do next close to the top, while keeping journeys and conversations easy to scan.

Best for: Action-oriented hubs, several content areas, or users who want a quick overview.

What a layout changes

A layout changes the structure and visual presentation of the user experience across the hub home page, journeys, milestones, steps, and conversations. Each layout may place or size text, images, video, navigation, and progress information differently.

It does not change your published content, user access, visibility rules, answers, progress, brand colors, theme, or style. Layout and Style are separate controls, so you can combine any layout with any style.

Check the result

After saving, select Preview as User and move through the hub the way a user would. Check the hub home page, open a journey, and view at least one milestone and step. If you use Gallery, pay special attention to background images because they are more prominent in that layout.

Frequently asked questions

Will changing layouts affect my content or user progress?
No. The layout changes presentation only. Your journeys, milestones, steps, conversations, user answers, progress, visibility rules, and access settings remain intact.
Can I preview a layout before users see it?
Yes. Select Change layout to preview every option with your real hub content, including a full-screen view. Nothing changes on the live hub until you select Apply layout and Save Pending Edits.
Can I use any Style with any Layout?
Yes. Layout controls where content is arranged, while Style controls details such as corners, spacing, shadows, and buttons. Any Style can be combined with any Layout.
Why do my images look different after changing layouts?
Each layout places and sizes media to match its structure. Your image and video content is still there, but its presentation may change. Gallery gives background images the most prominent role.
