Create a Conversation Template

Building Your Hub

Create a conversation template from your hub's Conversations section. A guided wizard walks you through four steps: General (name, icon, color), Documents, Prerequisites, and Prompt. Templates must be fully configured before they can be published.

Conversation templates define how AI conversations behave for your members. Each template creates a type of conversation that members can start — you control the name, the AI's prompt, which documents it draws on, and what members need to complete before it becomes available.

Start the wizard

  1. 1. Open your hub and select Conversations from the hub navigation.
  2. 2. Select Create Template.

The creation wizard walks you through four steps. You can save your progress and come back to finish later.

Step 1: General

Set the basics that members see when they browse conversations:

  • Title — the name of the conversation (required).
  • Description — a short explanation of what this conversation is for.
  • Icon — a visual icon that appears next to the conversation.
  • Color — a color accent for the conversation card.

Step 2: Documents

Choose which Documents from your hub's library the AI should draw on during this conversation. These are the files you've uploaded — frameworks, guides, transcripts — that give the AI context. You can also upload new documents directly from this step.

Step 3: Prerequisites

Set which steps a member must complete before this conversation becomes available. Prerequisites ensure members have the right context before starting a conversation. You can mark each prerequisite as required (must complete) or optional (recommended but not enforced).

Step 4: Prompt

Write the prompt that tells the AI how to behave in this conversation — its role, what to focus on, how to guide the member, and any boundaries. This is the most important part of the template. A good prompt is specific: describe the conversation's purpose, the kind of guidance to give, and what the AI should or shouldn't do.

Publish your template

After completing all four steps, you can publish the template to make it available to members. Incomplete templates stay in draft status and aren't visible to members. You can save a template as a draft at any point and come back to finish it later.

Edit after publishing

Published templates can be edited anytime. Open the template and use the sidebar sections — General, Prompt, Documents, Prerequisites, and Visibility — to update any part. The Visibility section (under the Advanced area in the sidebar) lets you add visibility rules after the template is created.

Frequently asked questions

Can I save a template without finishing it?
Yes. You can save your progress as a draft at any point and come back to finish later. Draft templates aren't visible to members.
What makes a good conversation prompt?
Be specific about the conversation's purpose, the kind of guidance the AI should give, and any boundaries. Describe the AI's role as if you were briefing a colleague who knows your material.
Can I change a template after publishing?
Yes. Open the template and edit any section — General, Prompt, Documents, Prerequisites, or Visibility. Changes take effect for new conversation sessions.
Can I delete a conversation template?
You can delete a template only if it's not currently in use by any members. If members have active sessions from the template, you'll need to handle those first.
